This is the guide for characters who have the archery skills (longbow, shortbow, and crossbow). There is much more to archery than just equipping your bow and firing at an opponent. Yes, I am here to tell you that you must do a little work... I'm sorry. |
Refer to the picture below as I explain... |
1. To fight a monster/player first equip your bow in your weapon slot, and your arrows in the shield slot. (To get arrows, go to the Coordinate Mapper and look under archer vendors.) |
2. Double click on the monster/player you want to attack. |
3. Keep an eye on your health, and stamina as you are fighting. Use potions to replenish your stats. (To get potions, go to the Coordinate Mapper and look under potion vendors.) |
For the different types of archer armor, visit the Items page. |
This is extremely important... Archers have to wear a special type of armor is made for them. If they wear mage or melee armor (iron, silver, gold, titanium) you will get stats docked. You will not see this deduction directly, but it will affect your things like your chance to hit. The types of armor available for archer combat are imp, snakeskin, beatlewing, ogrewax, thak, trollhair, and dragonscale. Unlike melee armor, there are no stat requirements to wear the armor. To get archer armor, buy in-game from other players who are tailors. |
HINTS:
1. Don't buy piercing arrows from the arrow vendor... they cost/weigh more, and don't do anything different than the cheap ones.
2. To drink potions hold down CONTROL on the keyboard and click what you want to eat/drink. P.S. carrots are really good stamina potions. Buy them from the Herbalist Vendors.
2. If you want to buy an archery skill go to the Weapons Trainer in Crossroads. He's on the Coordinate Mapper.
